The Saturday before Christmas

Event Details

Join us at the Cube to raise funds for the Kids Kino Project. This charity gig will feature six bands and two DJs, for the final blowout before Christmas.

Doors 6pm, first band on at 6.30pm
Tickets: £5 advance / £7 on the door

Morning Star: a rare appearance of the solo project of Fantasy Orchestra maestro Jesse D Vernon. He’s made four solo albums to date in the rock and roll troubadour style. The band may feature extra personnel.

Lope: Following the dissolution of the alternative rock band Pohl, frontman Will Pearce has returned to his roots with a solo project that draws upon folk, Americana, psychedelia, drone music, and the fretboard workouts of fingerstyle heroes like John Fahey and Robbie Basho.

Clayton Blizzard and The Boys From Marketing: The Boys from Marketing are a kick-ass group of marketing consultants who have been working with Blizzard on his music – and, more importantly – his attitude. It’s still Clayton Blizzard, but now it’s entertaining, with more possibilities for merchandising, product placement and energising content space for maximum brand engagement.

Pilot Whale Research: a band from North Bristol who play songs; quiet songs quite loud and loud songs quite quiet. The two old school friends will be playing songs from a forth coming EP which they will record in the new year.

Zama Zama Valentine: often compared to an M&S Wensleydale and Carrot Chutney Sandwich. Easy on the gullet and a favourite with middle class mums all over the world. Also surprisingly good for a bus journey.

eyepennies: Former Short Life of Gracie frontman with a guitar and a laptop, Sparklehorse meets Yo La Tengo at an underwater fairground in Autumn.

Plus DJ sets by Shake Appeal and DJ Kitschmas.
